IN-FORMAL - Infraestrutura urbana revisitada - Urban infrastructure revisited

Os projetos de infraestrutura urbana têm sido concebidos segundo uma lógica monofuncional estritamente utilitária e de forma pouco integrada ao contexto urbano e social em que se implantam. A partir de um mapeamento de situações de apropriação informal de infraestruturas projetadas no subúrbio carioca, o trabalho pôde identificar e construir uma série de categorias espaciais e funcionais alternativas capazes de contribuir com o planejamento de uma cidade mais híbrida, resiliente e inclusiva.

Urban infrastructure projects have been designed according to a strictly utilitarian, mono-functional logic, with little integration into the urban and social context in which they are implemented. Through mapping informal appropriations of designed infrastructures in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, the study was able to identify and construct a series of alternative spatial and functional categories that can contribute to planning a city that is more hybrid, resilient, and inclusive.
